Ledger note

What is established

Discovered in multiple independently indexed podcast transcripts carrying the same inserted Liberty Mutual creative. The scene is framed as a nature documentary: an observer describes LiMu in his natural habitat and calls Doug his natural ally; Doug notices the binoculars, and the observer orders the camera cut.

The same insertion is now preserved in fifteen independently indexed transcript pages, including a December 24 Into the Dark episode. Podcast ads can be inserted or replaced dynamically, so none of those host-episode dates establishes the reel's release date; the creative is only directly attested as present when those transcript pages were indexed or accessed.

The official Northern Disclosure RSS enclosure and its current 56:40 audio payload are preserved locally. Dynamic ad delivery means that current enclosure retrieval does not prove it still carries the same insertion Wave transcribed; it is retained as episode/enclosure provenance, not upgraded to direct reel audio evidence.

A complete silent local transcription audit of the retained current enclosure found that its historical tail-ad position now contains GEICO followed by Wayfair, not Liberty Mutual. This confirms dynamic replacement in the present payload but does not discredit Wave's earlier indexed transcript.

The Dragnet transcript places this creative immediately after Emu Music / Feel It; the current official Spreaker enclosure instead begins with a She's Birdie ad. The Wayback transcript opens with this creative; its current official Megaphone enclosure instead begins with PayPal and Sephora advertising. Both current payloads and silent first-90-second transcription audits are preserved locally as direct evidence of replacement, not as reel masters.

No title, catalog page, official upload, or playable video master has yet been located. Whether this is a television cut, a streaming-video cut, or an audio adaptation of one remains unresolved.

A January 2026 listener independently described hearing the creative as a radio spot in a car and remembered an Attenborough-like narrator calling LiMu `the Squawkus No Talkus` and giving Doug a mustache-related mock name. This supports audio/radio circulation and suggests dialogue omitted by the automatic podcast transcripts, but it remains unrecorded Grade D recollection and is not inserted into the transcript.

Doug: Uh, LiMu, is that guy with the binoculars watching us?
Announcer: Cut the camera. They see us.

Claims

What the evidence supports

  • CFifteen Wave transcript pages independently preserve the same nature-documentary dialogue in which an observer describes LiMu's natural habitat and ally Doug, Doug notices the binoculars, and the observer cuts the camera. Automated speaker labels are disregarded, and dynamic insertion prevents using any host-episode date as the reel's release date.
  • DA listener independently described the Attenborough-like creative as a radio spot heard in a car and remembered the observer calling LiMu `the Squawkus No Talkus` before giving Doug a mustache-related mock name. This supports radio circulation and suggests additional dialogue absent from Wave's automatic transcripts, but no recording, station, market, exact listening date, or complete wording was supplied.
