Directly watched from Liberty Mutual's official silent download and verified against its caption track. David Hoffman begins as Doug while makeup artist Jo Steel, herself costumed as Doug, applies a practical beak, face treatment, and feathers to turn him into a human LiMu imitation.

LiMu is the intended costume subject but the animal character does not appear as an independently depicted screen character. This human Halloween transformation is not evidence about the ordinary LiMu digital asset or final-pixel workflow.

Doug: Halloween's just around the corner, and I know what you're thinking. "Doug, what are you going to dress up as?" Well, see, every year thousands of people dress up as me. So I can't go as myself. But I can go as my best friend, LiMu.
Doug: Meet Jo Steel. She's a makeup master. She's also dressed up as me, which is very cool. Today she's going to transform me into LiMu. Ready. Set. LiMu me.
Doug: I'm feeling a bit peckish.
Doug: If LiMu could talk, he would say I look amazing. Gorgeous. Better than the real thing. Happy Halloween!

  • BCopper Giants' award-entry account says the human LiMu Halloween transformation took roughly six hours and used zero special effects. The claim is scoped only to this practical makeup collaboration and must not be generalized to the ordinary animal LiMu character, whose established launch realization used a CG digital double.
